About Me

Hello! I’m Yev. My passion for supporting positive and enriching mealtime experiences began early in my career as a behavior therapist for children with Autism. Working with children who struggled with feeding and eating ignited my interest in finding effective solutions for mealtime challenges.​

My Journey

In graduate school, I delved deeper into the complexities of mealtime, learning from various disciplines about different ways to approach and resolve mealtime challenges. This knowledge has greatly shaped my approach and strategies.

I'm also a mother of three, and have experienced a range of mealtime challenges firsthand as a parent. I understand how stressful feeding can be for caregivers from the day they welcome their child into the world. My personal and professional experiences have given me a unique perspective and empathy for families navigating these challenges. 

Expertise

My expertise is rooted in academic and practical foundation:

  • Doctoral Research: I focused my doctoral studies on supporting caregivers with mealtime concerns as well as building mealtime support into early learning settings. 

  • Professional Development: I have conducted numerous trainings, workshops, and consultations for families, early learning settings, and providers. My goal is always to provide practical, evidence-based solutions tailored to each unique situation.

  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Working with an interdisciplinary team, I have authored Meaningful Mealtimes, a book on creating enriching mealtimes in early learning settings, set to be released in September. 

 

I believe every child deserves to enjoy mealtime and that with the right support, we can create environments where children thrive. I look forward to working with you!​​
